How to start runecrafting?
Rune mysteries ( F2P )
First you need to do little quest. It starts in lumbridge. Speak to the king of lumbridge, duke. He tells you to take air talisman to wizard in wizard tower. Wizard tower is located south from draynor village. Go to lowest floor and talk to the headwizard. He gives you package. Take the package to guy named Aubury. Aubury is located in Rune shop in Varrock. He gives you notes. Take these back to the headwizard. There you go, quest done
Rewards: Ability to runecraft and 1 Quest point
Equipment needed?
The equipment you need is pickaxe and talisman.
Sleeping bag is useless, it just takes 1 space away and that means, less runes.
How do I runecraft?
It's easy skill but takes time. First you need to mine some rune essences
( 5 xp per essence to mining, not stackable ). Go talk to Aubury or Headwizard and they will teleport you to Mining place. I'd prefer Aubury because he is closer to bank. In the mining place mine full of rune essences and bank them/or go straight runecrafting. Next you need to find altars where you can craft runes. Use locate on your talisman and follow the directions. When you find mysterious ruins, use your talisman on them. After that you will be teleported to altar area. Theres altar middle of the place. Craft your runes on it. Every rune essence turns to 1 rune, but this amount increases as your runecrafting level goes up.
Where is the altars?
Here are the locations:
Air altar: Little northeast from Crafting guild, south from Falador
Mind altar: Its road between Goblin village and Dwarven mountain that leads to wilderness
Water altar: This one is located in swamps of Lumbridge, southwest from Lumbridge. Lost city shack is close to this place
Earth altar: This is near wilderness, northeast from varrock, near the pub.
Fire altar: You can find this one in deserts of Al Kharid south from mining place.
Body altar: Last but not least this is found south from prayer guild, between Barbarian village and dwarven mountain.
What levels to make runes?
Air rune: Level 1, Crafting 1 essence gives you 5 xp
Mind rune: Level 2, Crafting 1 essence gives you 5,5 xp
Water rune: Level 5, Crafting 1 essence gives you 6 xp
Earth rune: Level 9, crafting 1 essence gives you 6,5 xp
Fire rune: Level 14, crafting 1 essence gives you 7 xp
Body rune: Level 20, crafting 1 essence gives you 7,5 xp
Cosmic rune: Level 27
Chaos rune: Level 35
Where do I get talismans?
The basic talismans can be gained easily from darkwizards( Air, Mind, Water, Earth, Fire and Body ), but many enemies drop them.
HAVEN'T SEEN ANY PROOF ABOUT RARER TALISMANS SO I WONT POST THEIR INFO
Easier way to get levels?
First of all, mine your essences at aubury. He is closer to bank and that saves time. When you are mining take only pickaxe with you. Of course rune pickaxe is best for this. Mine about 500 essences ( or more ). Then just go craft your runes. You can also buy your essences which makes your leveling easier
So whats my secret to faster training?
It's easy, I just take air staff and runes with me. Once i have done the runes I'll teleport to nearest bank and get more rune essences. This saves lots of time.
Multiple runes from 1 essence?
Yes its possible to make more runes from 1 essence than 1 as I said before. This won't give you more XP thou. You need certain amount of levels to make more runes ( This is different in every rune ). Example: air needs 10 levels for 1 more rune per essence ( starting level is 1, if you want 2 runes from 1 essence you add 10 to level 1 ) .
