The centre rails can be as in Design 1,or spindles fitted as in 10.

The design elements of the doors are all interchangeable, for example the lower section of Design 6 could be combined with the upper section of Design 11, etc. Any of the corner brackets can be fitted in any of the doors. The centre rails can be fitted at any height to suit the layout of your front or back door.

Finishing

No half measures-we do it properly! Four coats applied by brush, for a first class finish.

a) Painted. 'Dulux' oil-based primer, undercoat and two coats gloss enamel topcoat. Designs 1-5 $160, 6-12 $180

b) Stained and varnished. One coat 'Forestwood' oil stain to highlight the natural grain, followed by three coats 'Cabots' gloss exterior (marine grade) varnish. Designs 1-5 $180, 6-12 $200

If your door will be positioned under a verandah or carport a varnished finish will last for many years. However, if fully exposed to the elements, a painted finish is recommended.

Please Note

All the above 'bare door' prices include 'Tuffscreen' mesh. This is a heavy duty aluminium mesh, matt black, highly resistant to damage from pets (or children).  We will send a sample on request.

As it is not possible to paint or varnish with the mesh in place, when doors are supplied 'bare' the mesh will be supplied rolled up for fitting by the client after finishing coats have been applied. We provide instructions.

If we finish your door, it will be supplied with the mesh correctly tensioned and fitted.

One more thing. While we do understand the temptation to save money by ordering just a bare door, we do not advise it. These doors are very tricky to paint or varnish, think of all those fiddly edges and corners. So unless you have a great deal of patience and spare time, best to pay a bit more and have the job completed.
